As the news of Goldie's sudden death spreads around the media, there have been a lot of questions about how she got her last name "Harvey" as no one really knows a lot about her personal life ( unless of course what we all saw at the BB Allstar reality show).

Well, as it turns out, Goldie, as she is popularly known as was infact married to one Andrew Harvey. And in light of her passing, Andrew tweeted this and several other photos of their wedding ceremony.

And in a new development, Goldie's spokeperson realised a statement about the sudden death of this star;

Kenny Ogungbe wrote

"We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her.

She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by the sudden loss."

SHOCKING NEWS! Nigerian singer Goldie Harvey is dead!

Nigerian pop artist Goldie Harvey is dead at 31, according to announcements on the singer's Facebook page.
Her death came Thursday following her trip to Los Angeles for the Grammys. Upon her return, Harvey reportedly complained of a severe headache and was rushed to a hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, where she was later pronounced dead.

"With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey," said Kenny Ogungbe, head of Kennis Music, Harvey's record label, in a statement.
Harvey, born Susan Filani, attended the American music ceremony despite receiving no nominations for the awards. There, she was spotted with R&B singer Ciara at a pre-event party.
Harvey is also known in her home continent for her appearance on Big Brother Africa in 2012, on which she stirred controversy for coming off as too Western to many Nigerians.
On the show, she met Kenyan rapper Prezzo, a musician with whom she had a relationship. Prezzo was on his way to Nigeria to meet with the singer prior to her death.

According to her website, Harvey had won numerous awards in Africa, most recently a special recognition at the Top Naija Music Awards. She was working on a new record, The Africa Invasion Album.
